Staff pull red tabs to reveal letters, C, A, S, or H, and the department manager assigns cash values to each letter combination. Service departments typically use lower dollar values; sales departments use higher values for bigger-ticket deals. How the letter system works: the board contains C (36 tabs), A (9 tabs), S (4 tabs), and H (1 tab). The manager sets the value of each, either for the full board or per day.
