Auto service supplies are the consumables and equipment a service department runs on: protecting interiors, controlling keys, tracking vehicles through the shop, and keeping technicians safe. Most of it is inexpensive and none of it is optional once you are out.

Every vehicle entering the shop needs its interior protected, and the customer notices whether you bothered. Paper and carpet floor mats come branded, with or without a poly moisture barrier, and plastic seat, wheel and gear shift covers handle the rest. Keys are the other daily problem: service key tags in paper, vinyl or waterproof poly, and key control cabinets and systems running from a 20 key wall box to a tamper resistant system that records who took what.

Dispatch tags tie the vehicle, its key tag and the customer claim check together so a car in the shop can always be matched to its keys and its owner. Safety and maintenance supplies cover the shop floor, and detailing supplies handle reconditioning and delivery prep, including odour neutralisers for trade ins before they reach the front line.

Auto Dealer Service Supplies

The consumables and equipment a service department runs on: protecting interiors, controlling keys, tracking vehicles through the shop, and keeping technicians safe. Most of it is inexpensive and none of it is optional once you are out.

Interior Protection

Every vehicle that enters the shop needs its interior protected, and the customer notices whether you bothered. Custom printed poly-back paper floor mats use 80# equivalent heavy-duty paper with a poly backing that stops moisture reaching the carpet, and carry your dealership branding. Custom 50# paper floor mats are the lower-cost option at 17in x 22in without the moisture barrier. For vehicles being prepared for delivery, full adhesive plastic floor mats stick to the carpet so they cannot shift underfoot.

The CAATS 5-in-1 disposable interior protection kit covers the whole job in one pack: seat cover, steering wheel cover, gear shift cover, floor mat, and more, 50 kits per box. See also plastic covers for car seat, wheel, and gear shift and custom paper and carpet floor mats.

Key Control

Lost keys cost time and sometimes a locksmith. Service key tags come in paper and vinyl: car dealer key tags on 10-point coloured stock for colour coding, rigid vinyl auto dealer key tags for water and tear resistance, and poly stock stickers in 23 mil waterproof polyethylene. Plastic sleeves fix torn paper tags for a fraction of the cost of upgrading. For consecutive numbering across two key sets, the patented 3-in-1 format is available blank or with a colour top. Multi-purpose tags handle everything else in the shop: parts, cores, and items with nowhere else to go.

For storage, key control cabinets and key systems run from 20-key and 48-key economy cabinets up to 105-key and the 18-gauge steel heavy duty key cabinet, which holds 96 keys on 1in hooks sized for modern remotes. Portable 32-hook and 75-hook key boards carry tagged keys out to the lot with spring-lock hooks. Where accountability matters more than storage, the 100 Cobra key management system records who took which key, with replacement key holders stocked.

Dispatch and Vehicle Tracking

Auto service dispatch tags link the vehicle, its key tag, and the customer claim check through the whole service process, so a car in the shop can always be matched to its keys and its owner. Heavy stock dispatch numbers are the American-made large-format option built to survive handling; white service dispatch numbers are the economical version on 100# white stock at 5-1/2in x 6-1/2in.

Safety

Safety and maintenance supplies cover the shop floor. Flexible temple safety glasses have rubber-tipped arms that conform to the wearer, which matters for technicians wearing them all day. Foamed safety glasses add a foam seal around the lens perimeter for closer protection against dust and airborne particles, the better choice for grinding and blowing out components.

Detailing

Auto detailing supplies cover reconditioning and delivery prep. Odor Armor odor bombs are 5-ounce aerosols in five scents for neutralizing interiors on trade-ins before they reach the front line, which is usually the difference between a unit that shows well and one that does not.

FAQ

Poly-back or plain paper floor mats?

Poly-back mats have a moisture barrier, so wet boots and melting snow do not soak through to the carpet. Plain 50# paper mats cost less and are fine in dry conditions or for short visits. Most dealerships in wet or snowy climates run poly-back year-round rather than switching seasonally.

Which key cabinet size do I need?

Count your keys, then add room. 20-key suits a small shop or a satellite location, 48-key a typical service department, and 105-key a primary wall location. The heavy duty 96-key cabinet uses 1in hooks specifically sized for large rings and remotes, which standard cabinets often will not take.

Cabinet or key management system?

A cabinet organises keys so they can be found. The Cobra key management system adds accountability: each user inserts their own numbered access key to release a vehicle key, creating a chain of custody. Choose a cabinet if the problem is finding keys, a key system if the problem is knowing who had them.

What do dispatch tags do?

They tie three things together: the vehicle, its key tag, and the customer's claim check. Matching numbers mean anyone can locate a car, its keys, and its owner without asking around. Choose heavy stock for shops where tags get handled hard, or standard white stock for volume at lower cost.

Which safety glasses should I stock?

Flexible temple glasses are the comfortable all-day option, with arms that conform to the wearer and rubber tips that stop them sliding. Foamed glasses seal around the lens perimeter against dust and airborne particles, which is what you want for grinding, sanding, and blowing out parts. Many shops keep both and let technicians choose by task.

Why protect interiors on every vehicle?

Because a customer who collects their car and finds a greasy footprint on the carpet remembers that longer than the repair. Interior protection costs cents per visit, and the 5-in-1 kit covers seat, wheel, shifter, and floor in one pack so nothing gets skipped when the shop is busy. Branded floor mats do the same job while carrying your name.
