Custom Boat Decals

(Showing 14 of 14)

A dealer decal on a boat stays in view far longer than one on a car. Boats are kept for years, shown at ramps and marinas, and photographed constantly. They also take far more sustained sun and salt than a car door ever does, so the question before ordering custom boat decals is less which style than which finish still looks right in three seasons.

Worth a call before a large run. These are specified for automotive use, and gelcoat is not automotive paint, so tell us where the decal is going, whether that is hull side, transom, trailer fender or console, and we will confirm what the adhesive and face material are rated for. One thing to rule out now: nothing here is intended for permanently immersed surfaces, so keep decals above the rub rail and away from anything scrubbed at haul out.

On format, ten styles run at roughly 5-3/4in x 1-7/8in, differing in shape and border rather than size, from rectangular to oval, all customisable with no setup charge. Each comes in chrome, polyester or white reflective, and reflective earns its place here more than on a car: trailers travel at night and transoms sit at a dock after dark. Where a sticker would look cheap on a premium hull, raised nameplates read as part of the boat, and for a transom graphic or trailer lettering, die cut decals scale to your own outline.

Custom Boat Decals

A dealer decal on a boat lasts longer in view than one on a car. Boats are kept for years, shown at ramps and marinas, and photographed constantly. What they also get is far more sustained sun and salt than a car ever sees, so the question before ordering is not which style, but which finish will still look right in three seasons.

Ask About the Substrate Before You Order

These decals are specified for automotive use. Gelcoat is not automotive paint, and a hull sitting in sun and salt all season is a harder environment than a car door. Before committing to a large run, tell us where the decal is going: hull side, transom, trailer fender, or console. We will confirm what the adhesive and face material are rated for and flag anything that is likely to lift or fade early.

One thing to rule out immediately: nothing here goes below the waterline. Permanently immersed surfaces need a different product entirely.

Dealer Identification Decals

Ten styles, all approximately 5-3/4in x 1-7/8in, all customisable with your dealership name and details, and all with no setup charges. They differ in shape and layout rather than size.

Choosing the Finish

Each style comes in three materials. Chrome gives a mirrored metallic look that reads as a factory badge rather than a sticker. Polyester is the standard durable finish and the most economical across volume. White reflective returns light, which is worth considering on trailer panels that travel at night and on transoms visible at a dock after dark.

Nameplates and Emblems

Where a decal would look out of place on a premium hull, a raised nameplate reads as part of the boat rather than applied to it. Custom nameplates carry your own design, and the die-cut adhesive version gives the closest thing to a factory-fitted appearance. Stock style nameplates place your logo on an existing 3D design with no custom tooling.

Larger Graphics

Custom die-cut decals are cut to your own outline rather than a fixed badge shape. This is the option for a transom graphic, a hull-side logo, or larger lettering on a transporter or trailer, where a 5-3/4in badge would be lost against the surface.

Where Decals Go on a Boat

The usual placements are the transom beside the engine, the hull side near the stern, and the trailer fender or tongue box. Avoid anything below the rub rail that sits in water when trailered, anything that gets scrubbed at haul-out, and non-skid decking, which no adhesive holds well.

A common approach is a small dealer decal on the boat itself and a larger die-cut graphic on the trailer, since the trailer is what people see going down the highway.

FAQ

Will these hold up on a boat?

Tell us where they are going before you order in quantity. These are specified for automotive use, and gelcoat under constant sun and salt is a harder test than a car panel. We will confirm what the material and adhesive are rated for, and say so plainly if something is a poor fit for your application.

Can a decal go below the waterline?

No. Nothing in this range is intended for permanently immersed surfaces. Keep decals above the rub rail, and avoid areas that sit in water when the boat is on the trailer or that get scrubbed during haul-out.

Chrome, polyester, or white reflective?

Chrome looks like a factory badge and suits a premium hull. Polyester is the standard durable finish and the most economical at volume. White reflective stays visible after dark, useful on trailers travelling at night and on transoms at a dock. All three are available across the style range.

Decal or nameplate?

A decal is flat, cheap per unit, and right for volume across all inventory. A nameplate is raised and reads as part of the boat, which suits higher-value hulls where a sticker would look cheap. Stock style nameplates avoid custom tooling if you want the raised look without the setup.

What is the difference between the ten styles?

Shape and layout only. All are approximately 5-3/4in x 1-7/8in. Style A is rectangular, Style F is oval, and the rest vary in border and arrangement. Send your artwork and we will show you how it sits in each.

Should we decal the boat or the trailer?

Both, at different sizes. A small dealer decal on the transom or hull side stays with the boat for years. A larger die-cut graphic on the trailer is what other drivers read on the highway, which is where most of the impressions actually happen.
