Cash Receipts Books

Cash Receipts Books

(Showing 18 of 18)

Four different things live in this category and they do different jobs, so a minute spent here saves ordering the wrong format.

Bound books are coil bound at 8-1/2in x 11in with a heavy cover to stop write through, and the control copy stays in the book. That is the whole reason to choose one: a retained copy that cannot leave the sequence means a missing receipt shows as a gap. Use them wherever cash is taken by hand, at the service cashier, the parts counter, or the sales desk taking a deposit. Loose slips at 6-1/2in x 2-5/16in suit a drawer or pocket where a book is impractical, but they are numbered rather than bound, so the control depends on someone reconciling the numbers.

Laser forms are blank stock your system prints onto, sold as an economical alternative to pre-printed receipts, and the holes question is simply whether the form gets filed in a binder or handed to the customer. The CRPO forms double as purchase orders, so one stock covers both if your system prints both. Separately from all of these, the AA-1301 journal is a back office posting record rather than a receipt: receipts are what the customer gets, the journal is what the office posts from, and a dealership taking cash at several counters usually needs both. On parts, three gives a department copy where the person collecting is not the person posting. Autosoft users should order the Autosoft Cash Receipts, allowing production time.

Cash Receipts

Four different things live in this category, and they serve different purposes. Working out which one you need takes a minute and saves ordering the wrong format.

1. Bound Receipt Books

Coil-bound at 8-1/2in x 11in with a heavy stock cover to prevent write-through, and the control copy stays in the book. That last point is the whole reason to choose a bound book: the retained copy cannot be separated from the sequence, so a missing receipt is visible.

Available as 2-part (NC-146-2), 3-part (NC-146-3), and 3-part (AA-138NC-1S2L), with custom imprinted versions of the 2-part, NC-146-3 and AA-138NC-1S2L.

This is the format to use wherever cash is taken by hand: the service cashier, the parts counter, the sales desk taking a deposit.

2. Loose Receipt Slips

Smaller at 6-1/2in x 2-5/16in, carbonless, printed in blue ink with red numbering. Available 2-part (AA-508-2) and 3-part (AA-508-3), with 2-part and 3-part imprinted versions.

Slips suit a pocket or a drawer where a full book is impractical. The trade-off is control: they are numbered, but they are not bound in sequence, so reconciliation relies on the numbering being checked rather than on the book itself showing a gap.

3. Laser Forms

Blank stock your system prints onto, described as an economical alternative that may replace a pre-printed form. Three options: ERA System Cash Receipt (LZR-CR), Laser Cash Receipt/PO without holes (LZR-CRPO), and with holes (LZR-CRPOFH). Imprinted versions are available for LZR-CR, LZR-CRPO and LZR-CRPO4H.

Holes or no holes is a filing question. Pre-punched stock goes straight into a binder; unpunched does not, which suits receipts that get handed over rather than filed.

Note that the LZR-CRPO forms serve as cash receipts or purchase orders, so one stock covers both jobs if your system prints both.

4. The Posting Journal

Different from everything above. The Cash Receipts Journal (AA-1301, buff) is a back-office posting journal that records all incoming cash in one place, eliminating copy work and speeding up posting.

The receipts are what the customer gets. The journal is what the office posts from. A dealership taking cash across several counters typically needs both.

Autosoft Users

Autosoft Cash Receipts are pre-printed laser forms for Autosoft FLEX DMS. Production is 2 to 3 business days standard and 1 to 2 on rush, so order before you run low rather than when you do.

How Many Parts

Two parts gives the customer a receipt and keeps one copy. Three parts adds a copy for the department, which matters when the person taking the money is not the person posting it. On a service drive where a cashier collects and accounting posts, the third copy is what closes the loop.

A Note on Pricing

Imprinted receipts and laser forms are priced per receipt or per sheet, while books and packs are priced per unit. Compare on the total for the quantity you need rather than on the figures shown side by side, and call us with your monthly volume if you want both worked out.

FAQ

Bound book or loose slips?

Control. A bound book keeps the retained copy in sequence, so a missing receipt shows as a gap. Loose slips are numbered but not bound, so the check depends on someone reconciling the numbers. For a cashier station taking cash daily, use the book.

2-part or 3-part?

Count who needs a copy. Two parts covers the customer and your file. Three parts adds a department copy, which matters when the person collecting is not the person posting. On a service drive with a separate cashier and accounting office, three.

What is the journal for if we already have receipt books?

Different job. Receipts document individual transactions for the customer. The AA-1301 journal consolidates all incoming cash in one place for posting, which is faster than working from a stack of receipt copies. Most dealerships taking cash at more than one counter use both.

Holes or no holes on laser forms?

Whether the form gets filed in a binder. Pre-punched stock files directly; unpunched suits receipts handed to the customer. If you file some and hand over others, order both rather than punching by hand.

Can laser forms replace our pre-printed receipts?

Often, yes, and they cost less. The LZR-CR and LZR-CRPO forms are designed as economical alternatives to pre-printed stock. Print a test first to confirm your system's field positions land correctly before ordering a full run.

Why does the imprinted version show a lower price?

Because it is priced per receipt while the books and packs are priced per unit. Work out the total for your quantity before comparing. Tell us your monthly receipt volume and we will price imprinted and plain side by side.
