Repair Order Racks

An open repair order has to live somewhere visible between write-up and pickup. A rack puts every job in the same place in a fixed order, so an advisor can see at a glance what is open, what is waiting on parts, and what is ready, without walking the shop or opening a screen.

Wall-Mounted Racks

The starting point for most departments. 12-pocket and 18-pocket repair order racks are 24-gauge gray steel with pockets sized to take repair order holders rather than loose paper. Both accept a key holder on either side, so you choose left or right to suit where the advisor stands.

Swivel Carousels

Where wall space runs out or volume outgrows a single rack, the carousels put three racks on a central swivel over a tripod base, so one person reaches every pocket from one position without moving. The 36-pocket carousel is three 12-pocket racks; the 54-pocket carousel is three 18-pocket racks. Same pockets, same steel, arranged for density and reach instead of wall mounting.

Keys With the Paperwork

A wall rack is cheaper and fine where you have wall space near the advisor's position. A carousel puts three racks on a swivel over a tripod base, giving you triple the capacity in one footprint reachable from a single spot. Choose the carousel when volume outgrows one rack or when there is no suitable wall.

How many pockets do I need?

Count the repair orders open at your busiest point in the day, then add margin. 12 pockets suits a small shop, 18 a typical department, and the 36 and 54-pocket carousels higher volume. A rack that fills up stops being a system, because the overflow ends up on a desk.

Which key holder fits my rack?

They are sized to the rack, so match them: the 12-pocket key holder for the 12-pocket rack and the 18-pocket key holder for the 18-pocket rack. Both hook onto either side, so you can place them on whichever side suits your counter layout.

What is the difference between a rack with a key holder and the Job Ticket Control Center?
