Bike keys are small, similar across a model line, and easy to confuse on a busy floor. A tag has to stay attached, stay readable, and survive daily handling, and on a motorcycle it hangs exposed rather than sitting in a cabinet. These motorcycle key tags are the same stock car dealers use, chosen here for how they behave on a bike.

Folding tags are the usual answer. A Versa Tag is 3in square, folds to 1-1/4in x 3in and seals the written details inside so they cannot rub off in a pocket or wash out in rain. Motorcycle Key Tags

Folding Tags That Protect the Writing

The most common choice. A 3in x 3in tag folds in half to 1-1/4in x 3in, sealing the written details inside so they cannot be rubbed off in a pocket or by weather.

Versa-Tag key tags are the original, 250 per box, writable with any pen. Versa-Tag Color Top adds a coloured top section so units can be sorted by colour at a glance. Multi-Use tags fold into a two-layer write-on tag with no separate holder. For branding, Custom Versa-Tags print in up to full colour across 10 stock colours including Lilac, Lime, Tan and Gray.

Numbered Tracking

The Consecu system is a patented 3-in-1 format: each 6in x 6in sheet produces two matching self-protecting folding tags with chrome-plated steel rings, plus one clear label. One tag on the key, one on the unit or the file, the label on the paperwork, all carrying the same number.

Tags That Need No Ring

Self-Lock key tags at 4-1/2in x 3/4in, and the large size at 5in x 1-3/16in, have a tab that threads through the key ring and locks back on itself. No separate metal ring to fit or lose, which suits the small key rings motorcycles come with. Sold 1,000 per pack.

Snap key tags take a different approach: a rigid holder snaps shut around the tag with the chrome ring built in, so tags swap in and out without threading anything.

When Durability Matters Most

If units sit outside or tags live on the key for months, material decides how long they last. Poly key tags use 23 mil polyethylene, more durable than paper or card. Top Stripe rigid vinyl tags resist water and tearing and take permanent marker. Both outlast card stock by a wide margin in outdoor storage.

Economical Colour-Coding

For high-volume coding where tags are replaced often, Car Dealer key tags in 10-point coloured paper and Manila key tags in 10-point tan card with reinforced holes do the job cheaply. Plastic tags with a 2in x 1in label area come in red, blue, and black, 100 per pack, for separating new from used, department, or price band.

Which key tag suits a motorcycle?

Paper, plastic, or vinyl?

How should we colour-code?

Pick one dimension and hold to it. New versus used, or department, or price band, but not all three at once. Colour top tags keep the coding visible while still protecting the written detail, and plastic tags in red, blue and black cover simple three-way splits.

Custom or blank?

Custom tags carry your name on something the customer often keeps after collection, and are priced per tag so the unit cost is low. Custom Versa-Tags and custom Consecu tags both carry minimums, noted on the product pages. Blank versions cost less and suit purely internal use.

Do tags come with rings?

It varies. Consecu tags include chrome-plated steel rings, and Snap tags have the ring built into the holder. Self-Lock tags need no ring, since the tab locks onto itself. Flat card and paper tags have a punched hole and take whatever ring you already use.
