Auto Detailing Supplies

(Showing 24 of 40)

Recon decides what a used unit sells for, and delivery prep decides what the customer remembers. These are the chemicals, brushes and tools a detail department goes through week to week, with the auto detailing supplies grouped by where in the process they get used.

At the wash rack, brushes are chosen for reach rather than surface: a 20in long handle for wheel wells and fender undersides, an 8-1/2in short handle close in around wheels, and a nylon brush for tyre sidewalls. Both Nylex brushes are chemical resistant, which matters if wheel cleaner runs through them. Dry with the silicone water blade, which clears paint and glass faster than towelling.

For paint, clay grade is the whole decision: start with light cut and step up to medium only if contamination resists, since you cannot undo a grade that was too aggressive. On adhesive, surface decides the tool. The razor scraper belongs on glass only; use the plastic scraper on paint and trim, because a steel blade on a panel costs a respray. Inside, foam eraser sponges lift scuffs that cleaner will not, and odour bombs neutralise rather than mask, though only over an interior that is already clean.

Auto Detailing Supplies

Recon decides what a used unit sells for, and delivery prep decides what the customer remembers. These are the chemicals, brushes, and tools a dealership detail department goes through week to week, organised by where in the process they get used.

Wash Rack

Wheels and wells take the most abrasive work, so brushes are matched to reach rather than to surface. The 20in long handle Nylex brush reaches wheel wells and fender undersides; the 8-1/2in short handle version works close in around wheels. Both are chemical resistant, which matters if you run wheel cleaner through them. The nylon white wall brush has 1in bristles for scrubbing tire sidewalls, and doubles for carpet and upholstery. For roofs and high panels on trucks and vans, the 60in threaded fiberglass extension pole takes a wash brush head. Finish with an industrial hose nozzle and dry with the California Jelly Blade, a 12in silicone water blade that clears water from paint and glass faster than towelling.

Paint Decontamination

Clay removes overspray and industrial fallout that washing leaves behind, and grade is the whole decision. Light cut clay is the gentler option for lightly contaminated paint and the safer default on newer finishes. Medium cut clay handles moderate contamination where light cut is not shifting it. Start light; you can always step up, but you cannot undo a grade that was too aggressive.

Adhesive and Decal Removal

This is where surface choice matters most. The soft grip razor blade scraper with single edge steel back blades removes glue lines and adhesive decals from glass, with a push-button retract so the blade is not exposed on the bench. Keep it on glass. For painted and plastic surfaces, use the multi-purpose plastic scraper, which lifts adhesive without cutting into the finish. All-Star steel wool pads in 00 very fine grade clear road film and paint from glass.

Interior

Extra Foamy multi-purpose cleaner cleans and conditions vinyl, plastic, cloth, and leather from an 18oz aerosol. The Magic Foam Eraser sponge handles what cleaner will not: scuff marks on plastic and vinyl, ground-in grime on leather and seats. Finish with Odor Armor odor bombs, 5oz aerosols in five scents including New Car, which is the difference between a trade-in that smells owned and one that smells ready.

Chemical Application

The Speedway Series chemical resistant trigger sprayer handles solvents and cleaning chemicals that destroy ordinary sprayers, paired with 32oz clear quart bottles so staff can see what is in each one. At under five dollars for the pair it is worth having one dedicated bottle per chemical rather than reusing and guessing.

Showroom and Lot

The California Car Duster lifts dust from paint without scratching, on a 26in wood handle, for showroom cars and front-line units between washes. The 52in premium pivot head telebroom has a pivoting head with a rubber squeegee for service bays and wash areas.

Winter

Snow on a hundred vehicles is a morning's work. The heavy duty snow rake has a 48in handle for clearing rooftops and hoods without climbing. The 42in deluxe telescopic snowbrush combines an ice chisel and frost blade in one head, and the 22in economy snowbrush is the compact option to keep in quantity. See all car snow removal tools.

Interior Protection

Full adhesive plastic floor mats stick to the carpet so they cannot shift underfoot, protecting newly cleaned interiors through service and delivery prep. The wall or table mount dispenser holds adhesive mat rolls at the point of use. See also custom paper and carpet floor mats and plastic covers for car seat, wheel, and gear shift.

FAQ

Light cut or medium cut clay?

Light cut for lightly contaminated paint, which covers most late-model trade-ins and anything where you want the gentlest option. Medium cut for moderate overspray or industrial fallout that light cut is not removing. Always start with light on an unfamiliar finish.

Can I use a razor blade to remove decals?

On glass, yes. The razor blade scraper is the fastest way to clear glue lines and old decals from windows. On paint or plastic, use the plastic scraper instead. A steel blade on a painted panel costs a respray, which is a far more expensive mistake than the few extra minutes plastic takes.

Which wash brush do I need?

Match it to reach. The 20in long handle gets into wheel wells and under fenders. The 8-1/2in short handle works close around wheels and tight areas. The nylon white wall brush is for tire sidewalls specifically, with stiffer 1in bristles. For roofs on trucks and vans, add the extension pole.

What removes odor from a trade-in?

Odor Armor odor bombs neutralise rather than mask, in five scents including New Car. Clean the interior first with multi-purpose cleaner and the foam eraser sponge, since an odor bomb over a dirty interior buys you a few days at most.

Why a chemical resistant sprayer?

Solvents and strong cleaners destroy standard trigger sprayers within weeks, and a failed sprayer means chemical on the floor or on someone's hands. The Speedway Series sprayer is built for them, and clear quart bottles let staff see the contents at a glance. Dedicate one bottle per chemical rather than reusing.

How do we clear snow off the lot faster?

Use the right tool per surface. The 48in snow rake clears rooftops and hoods from the ground, which is both faster and safer than reaching across a vehicle. The 42in telescopic brush handles ice and frost on glass with a combined chisel and frost blade, and 22in brushes are cheap enough to keep several so nobody waits for one.
