Color-Code Filing

A colour-code filing system makes a misfiled folder visible from across the room, because the colour band breaks the pattern. Build it from File Right color-coded filing supplies: number labels sold by digit, alphabet labels A through Z plus Mc, year labels covering 2009 to 2027, month labels, and auto makes labels in 35 options covering major domestic and import brands.

The folders are built for it. Pre-printed color-code folders are 14-point manila, full-tab with a tab extension so the VIN reads without pulling the folder, and color-code deal jackets are pre-printed with vehicle sale information plus dedicated side lines for the label system. When a year closes, the file folder storage box takes inactive folders into archival storage.

Night Drop

Customers who cannot make your hours still need to leave a vehicle. The premium night drop box is all-steel zinc-coated with a powder coat finish and no plastic parts to break, with a tamper-resistant master lock. The standard wall mount night drop box is the industry-standard model, black steel with a self-closing hydraulic arm on the drop door.

Where there is no wall to mount to, use a pedestal: the 24in surface mount pedestal bolts to a hard surface and the 36in inground pedestal sets into the ground, both 4in all-steel with mounting hardware included. See all night drop boxes and envelopes.

Workflow and Winter

Repair order racks keep open ROs visible and in order through the day, and work ticket holders keep paperwork with the vehicle rather than on a bench somewhere. For winter, car snow removal tools cover snow rakes, telescopic brushes, and ice scrapers for clearing a lot before opening.

Emergency Entry

Auto lockout kits handle keys locked in a customer's vehicle, which happens often enough to be worth having a kit rather than a locksmith bill. Available in a comprehensive deluxe tool kit and an economy version.

Counter and Office Supplies

The service desk runs on small consumables. Writing pads in yellow and white at 5in x 8in, letter-size canary note pads, and 3in x 3in self-stick notes, all 12 pads per pack. For bundling paperwork, jumbo paper clips, #1 non-skid paper clips, and size 54 rubber bands.

For filing, reinforced letter-size hanging folders and box bottom hanging folders that expand for thick document packets. Coin envelopes at 2-1/4in x 3-1/2in hold keys, fobs, and small parts, 500 per pack. Direct thermal paper rolls fit most receipt and label printers.

Standard reinforced letter size for everyday filing. Box bottom folders where a file holds a thick packet: a completed deal, a warranty claim with supporting documents, or a long service history that will not sit flat in a standard folder.

What are coin envelopes used for in a service department?

Keys, fobs, removed hardware, and small parts that would otherwise end up loose in a drawer or lost on the shop floor. A coin envelope can be written on and stapled to the repair order, which keeps the part with the paperwork it belongs to. 500 per pack.
